Dirk Leavesley, CFP PFP RRC
Financial Planning Consultant Mid-West Region, Canada Life
Dirk has been in the financial industry since 2001 in client facing roles. After becoming a Personal Financial Planner (PFP) in 2008, his primary focus for his clients were Tax planning, Retirement and Post-Retirement cash flow planning. He then received his Certified Financial planner designation (CFP) in 2010, and a few years later, his Registered Retirement Consultant designation (RRC). Prior to joining Canada Life, Dirk sold his financial planning practice to focus on helping advisors in Canada Life grow their practices. Dirk believes that every Canadian should have a financial plan as part of their financial well-being. Working with a client to create a financial plan creates accountability and ownership for both the advisor and client.
Dirk’s primary focus in the Financial Planning Consultant role is to elevate the financial planning standards for advisors across the Mid-West. This is done through education on financial planning concepts, defining or refining advisors’ goals based planning processes and collaborating on advanced case study work in complex client situations. Dirk will also assist advisors with the usage of Conquest planning software and provide advisors with the knowledge they need to bring plans to life for every client.
Dirk’s philosophy is simple. There is always an opportunity to improve a client situation.
Dirk was born and raised in Winnipeg. He has three kids in their twenties and six-year-old twins, has coached basketball for more than fourteen years, and enjoys movies and travelling with his wife Richelle and his family.
